Toronto has issued a mandatory lockdown amid a second wave of COVID-19 infections. Small local businesses are scrambling to survive the pandemic and Astoria Kebab House is one of them. Established in the 1970s, Astoria Kebab House is one of the most famous Greek restaurants in Toronto. According to the general manager Angelo Koutis, business has decreased 70-80 percent as dine-ins are not allowed. To save operation costs, the restaurant had to reduce the number of employees. Although Toronto government has helped them with subsidies, utilities and property taxes, it's still not easy to stay afloat under the pandemic, Koutis said.
