The recent drop in temperature has frozen parts of the Yellow River in northern China's Shanxi Province.

The Hukou Waterfalls on the river is the world's largest yellow waterfall. But now thick blocks of ice have stopped the waters from pouring over the edge, giving the appearance that the waterfall has "disappeared".

The former tourist hotspot has been sealed off out of safety concerns.
