China is the only major economy in the world that achieved positive GDP growth in 2020 while the amount of industrial power generation went up by 2.7 percent. John Gong, a professor from the University of International Business and Economics, said it was notable that state-owned enterprises, as the backbone of the national economy, achieved good revenue last year and made great contributions.
