Shijiazhuang City in north China's Hebei Province will carry out a new round of mass nucleic acid testing for all residents starting Wednesday, said local health authorities at a press conference on Tuesday. 

Hebei Province has registered 822 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases since January 2 as of 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, of which 771 were recorded in capital city Shijiazhuang.

Shijiazhuang registered a COVID-19 death on January 13, breaking the zero casualty record on the Chinese mainland in more than 270 days.

The city with over 11 million people finished two rounds of mass nucleic acid testing on January 10 and January 14 respectively.
