Shijiazhuang City in north China's Hebei Province reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, along with one new asymptomatic case of infection.

Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, reported 10 new cases from midnight to 4 p.m. on Thursday, according to local authorities. Two asymptomatic cases were also reported.

Beijing reported two locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Wednesday with one asymptomatic case, all from Tiangongyuan Street in Daxing District, local health authorities said on Thursday, adding that all public places and gymnasiums in Daxing had been closed.

China will tighten its epidemic control measures for the upcoming Spring Festival holiday. China's National Health Commission announced that people traveling over the holiday period will need to show a negative test issued up to seven days before their departure.
