Tianjin detects new COVID-19 variant on imported case

China's Tianjin Municipality detected the new variant of coronavirus that was initially discovered in the United Kingdom on one confirmed case from overseas, local health authorities said on Thursday.

The new variant was not related to outbreaks in other provinces in China recently, the authorities added.
