A magnitude-4.7 earthquake hit Yanjin County, Zhaotong City in southwest China's Yunnan Province at 9:59 BJT on Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 kilometers, was located at 28.18 degrees north latitude and 104.22 degrees east longitude, said the CENC. No casualties have been reported yet.
Tremors were felt in Sichuan's provincial capital of Chengdu, about 273 kilometers north of the epicenter. Residents in nearby cities of Leshan, Yibin and Zigong of Sichuan Province also said that they felt tremors, especially in multistory residential buildings.
