China was the largest recipient of foreign direct investment in 2020, surpassing the United States. According to a report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the Chinese economy brought in $163 billion in inflows, compared to $134 billion by the U.S. The report also said foreign investors were impressed by the way China has been handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
