Nature has carved a spectacular landscape from icicles growing on the Hongjiannao Lake in Shenmu City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

An icicle is a spike of ice formed when water dripping or falling from an object freezes. Ice or snow melted by heat refreezes because of the low temperature when it drips down.
