Useful creeping smartweed thriving in S China's Hainan

These delicate flowers and purple berries belong to a plant called the creeping smartweed. It exists widely across China, Japan, and areas in Southeast Asia. It is very common in meadows and valleys in China, with an elevation between 30 meters to 2,400 meters. The plant is used in herbal remedies in China, Malaysia and Vietnam, etc., for treatments of sore throat and other diseases.
