Captive bred West African manatee debuts in south China city

A captive-bred West African manatee recently made its debut in Zhuhai City in south China's Guangdong Province. /CFP
This is the fourth bred in captivity by the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in the city. /CFP
The female manatee named Bili was born in December 2020. It now weighs 50kg and is 130 cm long. Bili is the second offspring of her mom Baobao. The first, a male, was born in May 2018. /CFP
The West African manatee has been assigned the status of "vulnerable" in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species since 1986. /CFP
