China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is to set up community vaccination centers in 18 districts as the city prepares to administer COVID-19 vaccines, the government said in a statement on Saturday.

The government has invited the Hospital Authority, the Department of Health, private hospitals and private medical institutions to operate vaccination centers in the community for at least six months, the statement said.

The government is liaising with different vaccine suppliers and hopes to confirm the arrival time of vaccines as soon as possible.
