Both Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers have been doing surprisingly well so far in the 2020-21 NBA season. The 76ers are in a solid leading position in the Eastern Conference, with Embiid averaging a career-high of 28.3 points at a brilliant efficiency of 66.9 true shooting percentage.

It has been 20 years since a center won the Most Valuable Player award in the league. In fact, only three centers won the honor after 1983. Will Embiid change that? Is he taking the NBA back from perimeter players to big men?
