Myanmar military TV on Monday declared a one-year state of emergency in the country after government leaders were detained earlier in the day.

China hopes that all sides in Myanmar can address their differences under a constitutional and legal framework, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin on February 1.
