Yesterday, flocks of birds with chubby appearances were seen in Chinese crabapple trees in Bole City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. These birds, with spotted plumage on the belly, belong to a migratory bird species called the mistle thrushes. It is widely found in northern Europe, Asia and Africa. In China, it only appears in Xinjiang with small groups. Its diet consists of insects, snails and berries, especially the fruit of mistletoe, from which it gets its common name.
