More than 1,500 volunteers attempting to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in Myanmar have gone on strike to protest the military's takeover, Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee claimed in a statement on Tuesday.

Myanmar's Civil Disobedience Campaign also said on Facebook that staff at 70 hospitals and medical departments have stopped working to join the protest against the military's seizure of power.
