Sea ice arises in Bohai Sea as cold wave hits northeast China

As a result of the new severe cold snap hitting northeast China since Monday, sea ice has kept arising amid seawater freezing in the Liaodong Bay of the Bohai Sea in the vicinity, with the freezing area exceeding 10,000 square kilometers and with the edge of seawater freezing extending by as far as 60 nautical miles (about 111 kilometers).

To ensure the safety of sail on the sea, small boats have been instructed to follow the big ships. Ice breakers will be on duty 24 hours a day and help clear the transport routes to ensure the transport of key livelihood supplies.
