Yangon International Airport resumed operation on Tuesday night as two flights to Malaysia and South Korea departed the airport early on Wednesday.
Local media Myanmar Times earlier reported that relief flights to and from the airport had been permitted to resume.
The report said the country's COVID-19 central committee will expedite its relief missions and deploy more relief flights and vessel trips so citizens abroad can return to the country.
Myanmar on Tuesday closed the airport, the country's main gateway, following a military takeover on Monday.
