China had administered over 31.23 million shots of its COVID-19 vaccines as of Wednesday, Mi Feng, a spokesperson of the National Health Commission, told a press conference on Thursday.
Mi said national situation of epidemic prevention and control continues to improve this week with the daily increment of confirmed cases or asymptomatic cases in all Chinese provinces staying below 10.
"But there're still COVID-19 medium- and high-risk areas in China," Mi said, adding that prevention and control work shouldn't be loosened.
As of February 1, China's daily testing capacity has grown over 11 times compared to last March - from 1.26 million per day to 16 million, Guo Yanhong, an official with the National Health Commission, told the press conference.
