One step at a time: Canadian creates spectacular 'snowshoe art'
00:56

Magnificent geometric formations appeared on frozen lakes and snow-covered fields in Canada's wilds. These were created by Kim Asmussen, a 62-year-old retired headmaster seeking to beat pandemic gloom with art. He uses drafting software to create designs and mapping tools to scope out suitable locations.

Each piece can take up to three days depending on its size and intricacy. He uses drones for photographs and then posts his work online. Since last year, Asmussen has made 20 snowshoe artworks in and around the town of Schreiber, Ontario.

The largest piece of work is about 400 meters long.
