The China Film Administration started on Friday to screen selected films from Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) on movie channel CCTV-6 and cinemas.
From February 5 to 9, CCTV-6 will broadcast a number of films from CEEC, including "On the Milk Deliveryman" (Serbia), "Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs" (Latvia, Poland), and "King of the Belgians" (Bulgaria, Belgium, Netherlands).
The Nationwide Alliance of Arthouse Cinema (NAAC) will release a batch of CEEC films, with the Hungarian film "Sunset" slated to be first on February 9.
The ambassadors of Albania, Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Lithuania and other CEEC expressed their support and congratulations., saying the screenings will enhance exchanges and cooperation in the film industry and deepen understanding and friendship between the countries.
Film exchange is one of the most important facets of cultural exchange and cooperation between China and CEEC, said a spokesperson for the National Film Bureau, adding the screenings aim to strengthen the film cultural exchanges between China and CEEC, continuously inject new humanistic impetus into the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism, continue to promote the construction of high-quality Belt and Road Initiative, and further promote people-to-people bonds, cultural exchanges and mutual learning.
