New Zealand will begin receiving refugees again after shutting its border for nearly a year to combat COVID-19. The decision came after coronavirus cases eased in the nation. From Auckland, reporter Owen Poland said the first group of 35 people is expected to arrive in New Zealand this month. They will need to quarantine for two weeks before being transferred to a refugee center.
