A massive flood swept away the Tapovan Vishnugad hydropower project in northern India after a Himalayan glacier burst. Some 100 to 150 casualties are feared as a result of the disaster in Uttarakhand state. Laborers working on the Tapovan project were stranded. A local rescue team took 12 workers to safety on February 7, 2021.
