SUMMARY

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has exceeded 107 million, with over 2.3 million deaths and more than 60 million recoveries, according to the Johns Hopkins University data.

Here is the latest:

The Chinese mainland reported zero new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday.

The U.S. confirmed a deal with Pfizer and Moderna to secure 200 million more COVID-19 vaccine doses as officials look to immunize the vast majority of the population by July. 

Portugal has extended nationwide coronavirus lockdown until 1 March, allowing the government to keep all lockdown and anti-COVID-19 measures in place until the date.
