The Carnival of Venice in 2021 kicked off on February 6 without the usual crowds of tourists due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The city has moved many of the celebrations online for this year's carnival. Despite the lack of carnival-vibes, local carnival-goers appeared in sumptuous gowns and masks.
