Expatriates in China are among those helping organizational efforts for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Heloise Gentil is one such expat who has been working as a project expert for the organizing committee of Winter Games for three years.

"Maybe opening the winter sports is a bit new in China, but everyone is really learning quite fast and also developing very, very fast. So I'm really happy and convinced that we are opening a new path for China," said Gentil.

And seeing the growing interest for winter sports in China has kept her excited.

"I'd say there's always room for more because we have many people here around and you can see that the venues are very popular," she said.

China's careful preparations have also inspired her to devote her time, helping to make sure she's doing her part with organizing the big event.

In Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games where Gentil and her colleagues work every day, information related to the Games is processed before being sent to National Olympic Committees (NOC) around the world.

Gentil said this is a good way to promote ties between countries, and to encourage communication.

"So basically, it's helping them to find all the details regarding their delegation at the Games. Because every NOC has a specific operation and plan. Basically, we have individual meeting with them to make sure that they have all the details they need," she said.

Gentil's husband Pascal is also excited: "The winter sports here in China would be incredible because I was here in 2008 and the Chinese government and the Chinese people organized a fantastic summer Olympic and I know that for Beijing 2022, the Olympic would be very big and very impressive."

For them, the 2022 winter games is not only a sporting event, but a dream the whole family can enjoy.
