Foreign participants at the China-Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) Summit on Tuesday spoke highly of the win-win cooperation under the inter-regional cooperation mechanism.

The inter-regional cooperation mechanism has accelerated infrastructure building and social and economic development in the Central and Eastern European countries, which not only conform to common interests but also expand the cooperation between both sides to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, they said at the summit held virtually in Beijing.

Facing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the sluggish global economy, the summit advocated and chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping is of great significance, they reckoned, adding the summit will become a major new milestone for bilateral cooperation.

The joint efforts to vanquish COVID-19 will not cease, promoting economic recovery and adhering to multilateralism to jointly tackle global challenges.

They appreciated China's contribution to the global endeavor against the pandemic, especially President Xi's promise of making Chinese COVID-19 vaccines a global public good, and hoped to enhance cooperation with China on vaccines and public health.

Applauding the pragmatic cooperation proposed by President Xi, the CEEC leaders expressed willingness to actively develop the Belt and Road Initiative, surge their exports to China, welcome Chinese enterprises to invest in their countries, promote interconnectivity and strengthen cooperation in science innovation, digital economy and green development, and therefore deepen people-to-people exchanges to reap better fruits benefiting the people on both sides.

As the Year of the Ox is approaching, the CEEC leaders extended their New Year greetings to the Chinese people, wishing them good luck in the coming year.

The Republic of Austria, the Republic of Belarus, the European Union, the Swiss Confederation, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development were present as observers.
