China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Tuesday morning started its COVID-19 vaccination program with Macao's Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng receiving his first dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine at the initiating event.
Other senior government officials and frontline medics were also inoculated and residents in Macao can register for injections starting Tuesday noon.
Macao received 100,000 doses of Sinopharm's COVID-19 vaccine last Saturday (February 6) as part of the central government's efforts to support the region in fighting the deadly coronavirus.
