All kinds of birds were seen frolicking and foraging in the Qijiang River in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on February 9.

Continuous improvement in the ecology of the Yangtze River basin has contributed to gains in the Qijiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, as well. Since the beginning of the winter, scaly-sided mergansers, grey herons, black-headed gulls, ruddy shelducks, plumbeous water redstarts and other protected waterfowl and birds have successively come here, creating a scene of harmony with nature.
