00:35

According to China's National Space Administration (CNSA), the Tianwen-1 Mars probe successfully carried out an orbital maneuver on the far side of the red planet at 5 p.m. Beijing time on Monday. The maneuver, in which the probe changed its inclination, will allow it to view the entire planet over time.

The craft will conduct several more orbital adjustments in the near future. In order to enter parking orbit, the Tianwen-1 will remain stationary for a while in order to locate a place to land on Mars, which will happen around May or June.
