Former Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will become the first African and first woman to head the World Trade Organization (WTO). This comes after a South Korean rival withdrew from the race and the U.S. reversed its earlier opposition. For Africa, her impending appointment is a big deal.
