Lebanon launched a COVID-19 vaccination campaign on Sunday by inoculating the head of critical care at its biggest public hospital, followed by 93-year-old celebrated Lebanese actor and comedian Salah Tizani.
Healthcare workers and those aged above 75 will be the first in line for Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines under the government roll-out plan.
Lebanon received 28,500 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine from Belgium on Saturday.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country of less than seven million people reached 339,122 and 3,993 deaths as of Sunday.
