2021 Spring Festival: Chinese families reunite in combination photos

Editor's note: The Spring Festival is an important annual traditional festival of the Chinese nation. In consideration of cutting the spread of COVID-19, the Chinese people have been advised to stay put instead of traveling back to their hometowns for the seven-day family reunion. Here are combination photos of several people posing with their family members back home to express that although apart, they are together in spirit.

Si Daoyuan, 37, is a physician at China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University in Changchun City, northeast China's Jilin Province. Si went to treat COVID-19 patients at Tonghua Central Hospital in a different city of the same province along with his colleagues in January when the city saw some novel coronavirus cases.

"If I take care of the patients well, my family members will feel more relieved. I believe we can beat COVID-19 and the date for family reunion will come sooner," said Si.

Ju Wenxue, 42, is a village official at Luojiahe Village, Fengzhuang Town, Baota District in Yan'an City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province. Staying in Yan'an during the Spring Festival, Ju wished his parents good health and Luojiahe Village a more and more prosperous life. 

During the Spring Festival, Ju visited residents in the village and sent them New Year wishes.

Wei Chuanglai, 35, is a ride-hailing driver in Beijing. Wei chose to stay in Beijing with his wife and their children during the Spring Festival. Wei also wanted to earn more during the holiday as many stayed in the city.

"Our two children are still very young. Lots of money is needed for their education besides our mortgages and car loans. I am willing to try to create a better life for them," said Wei.
