Editor's note: The Spring Festival is an important annual traditional festival of the Chinese nation. In consideration of cutting the spread of COVID-19, the Chinese people have been advised to stay put instead of traveling back to their hometowns for the seven-day family reunion. Here are combination photos of several people posing with their family members back home to express that although apart, they are together in spirit.

Si Daoyuan, 37, is a physician at China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University in Changchun City, northeast China's Jilin Province. Si went to treat COVID-19 patients at Tonghua Central Hospital in a different city of the same province along with his colleagues in January when the city saw some novel coronavirus cases.

"If I take care of the patients well, my family members will feel more relieved. I believe we can beat COVID-19 and the date for family reunion will come sooner," said Si.
