A total of 365 million express deliveries were handled nationwide during the first five days of the week-long Spring Festival holiday, up by 224 percent year on year. The Spring Festival period typically sees millions of workers travel back to their hometowns to celebrate. However, many people chose to stay put this year due to concerns surrounding COVID-19 but sent parcels to their relatives and friends. A number of courier companies promised non-stop service during the holiday to address the surge.
