A critically endangered Baer's pochard duck was spotted for the first time in Beihai Wetland of Tengchong, southwest China's Yunnan Province. A bird watcher sighted the bird on Sunday afternoon. Experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences later studied his footage. They confirmed that the bird was indeed a Baer's pochard duck, listed as a critically endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2013.
