The first batch of COVID-19 vaccine developed by Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech arrived in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Friday.

The HKSAR government on Thursday gave the nod to the emergency use of the inactivated vaccine produced by Sinovac Biotech, two days after a panel of experts recommended the vaccine to the authorities.

Hong Kong will begin to give the COVID-19 vaccine to its residents for free on February 26.
