As the week-long Spring Festival holiday ends, many Chinese ended up staying at home this year, due to pandemic restrictions. But with travel down, online shopping and box office receipts boomed. So how has the domestic economy done overall this holiday season? What new patterns of consumption are emerging in China, and elsewhere as the pandemic continues? And with the global economy still struggling, what are China’s economic prospects in the months to come?
