Large and small supermarkets, shops and restaurants in Myanmar closed on Monday, and commercial activity in some communities has been brought almost to a halt as tensions continue to escalate in Myanmar, where anti-military protests have continued for more than three weeks. Meanwhile, rallies continue across the country despite threats by the military that confrontation could cost more lives.
