The Australian Open tennis tournament was held at Melbourne Park in Melbourne between January 10 and February 22, 2021.

The tournament was played in front of a reduced audience for the opening days, and the Grand Slam event organizers planned to allow up to 30,000 fans.

However, the number of COVID-19 cases in Australia forced the event to continue behind closed doors, as Melbourne was placed in a five-day lockdown starting from February 13.
