China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) reported 12 new COVID-19 cases from Monday, including 11 locally transmitted, the Center for Health Protection (CHP) said on Tuesday.

Among the new local cases, three were from unknown sources, the CHP added.

Hong Kong on Tuesday started inoculation appointments for five groups of people, including medics and the elderly.

As of Tuesday morning, over 40,000 residents have registered, and the inoculation will start this Friday.
