The Chinese Embassy in the UK on Wednesday expressed strong dissatisfaction with The Guardian's misuse of a Chinese enterprise-related picture in one of its reports and requested immediate correction.

The response came after the UK newspaper carried a report about engine parts dropping from a Longtail Aviation's Boeing 747 cargo plane in the Netherlands, causing injury, and used a picture of an Air China's cargo plane to go with it.

An embassy spokesperson said in a statement that the misuse of the picture was false reporting and affected the image of the Chinese enterprise and the embassy requests apology to the Chinese company affected by the misconduct.

Misinformation like this has not been rare in some Western media's reports, showing their disregard for the ethics of journalism and their deep-rooted prejudice against China, the spokesperson said.

"We urge the relevant media to stop seeing China through tinted glasses and view China and its development in an objective and fair manner," the spokesperson added.
