China has always adhered to the strategy of "targeted" or "precise" poverty alleviation, and eradicating poverty by means of development, said Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"We've always emphasized that the work of poverty alleviation relies on 'precision,'" said Xi, highlighting that China has been implementing the strategy through precise management both on the impoverished population and the resources allocated to them. Xi made the remarks on Thursday at an event marking China's victory in extreme poverty eradication.
