ROK nuke envoy holds virtual talks with U.S. diplomat

The Republic of Korea (ROK)'s top nuclear envoy held virtual talks with a senior U.S. diplomat over issues concerning the Korean Peninsula, ROK's foreign ministry said on Thursday.

Noh Kyu-duk, special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, talked online with Sung Kim, acting U.S. assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs.

During the video meeting, Noh and Kim assessed the close cooperation and collaboration between the ROK and the U.S. in the process of the U.S. review of its policy toward the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

They exchanged in-depth opinions about bilateral cooperative ways for the denuclearization of and permanent peace in the peninsula.

The diplomats agreed to continue close consultations on every level between Seoul and Washington.
