New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Saturday that Auckland will go into a lockdown for seven days starting from Sunday as one new COVID-19 case was reported in the country.
The new case was a recent returnee who tested positive in managed isolation, while there was no new cases in the wider community, said the ministry.
The total number of active cases of COVID-19 in the country stood at 66 and the total number of confirmed cases reached 2,016.
