Hungarian President Janos Ader on Friday received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by China's Sinopharm.
He urged the public to follow suit and register for vaccination as early as possible.
The shipment of vaccines from China landed in the European country on February 16, and the vaccination program was rolled out on February 24, making Hungry the first member of the European Union to inoculate its citizens with a China-developed vaccine.
Vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Sputnik V have also received emergency use approval in Hungary. People are free to choose from the five on offer.
