Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou thanked China after the country received a batch of China's Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines as he met with Chinese Ambassador to Uruguay Wang Gang on Friday.

The shipment from China, which landed in the capital city Montevideo on Thursday night, was the first the Latin American country received and will begin to be used to inoculate its citizens in March.
