After reading through their work reports, Xi stressed that this year marks the first year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (FYP), and the centenary of the CPC.

He urged the officials to unite more closely around the CPC Central Committee and mark the centenary of the Party with actions and outstanding accomplishments.

The officials should cultivate their foresight in the work they are in charge of and constantly improve their political understanding, judgment and execution, Xi said.

In their work reports, the officials have summarized and analyzed their work in the past year, outlining areas of improvement for future work, which have included systematic management of COVID-19 prevention and control and social and economic development as well as a strict reporting system for major issues and problems.
