A Chinese fishing boat with 10 people on board capsized some 150 kilometers east of Wenzhou City in east China's Zhejiang Province, according to the transport authorities on Tuesday.
China maritime rescue center immediately dispatched fishing boats in the vicinity of the water to salvage the overturned boat on receiving the emergency signal via radio at around 8:00 a.m.
Five people have been rescued, and five others are still unaccounted for as rescue work is underway.
Japanese media reported earlier five people were rescued after a Chinese fishing boat capsized some 330 kilometers north of Ishigaki island, Okinawa prefecture, southwest Japan.
