A Hong Kong scholar stressed the importance and necessity of the National Security Law to Hong Kong at the 46th session of the United Nations' Human Rights Council on Monday.

Hong Kong's law and order were quickly restored and people's livelihood were largely back to normal after its enactment on June 30, 2020, said Dr Henry KC Ho, founder and chairman of the One Country Two Systems Youth Forum.

In his opinion, biased reporting by some media outlets, fueled violence and rumors that brought the city to a halt.

The 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council is is being held from February 22 to March 23 in Palace of Nations, Switzerland.
